In ‘’Fast Living’’ , i invited some of the best musicians of Portugal and Germany jazz scene.
Yuri Daniel, there’s no words to describe the support as friend he has been giving me since 1988, when we started playing together.
He has been playing in almost every project of mine since then (he plays now with very famous singer Maria João and tours Europe very frequently).
He is a complete and astonishing sideman, with a big energy and commitment that fits perfectly with my way of playing.He is the most complete electric bassist in Portugal, and in this Cd, he plays most of the time Acoustic Bass, giving to the compositions a different sound, that is more fresh and not so heavy as the sound of bass in other projects of the same kind.

Ruben Alves , i saw him for the first time in Centro Cultural de Belem, Lisbon, three years ago, and he right away impressed me for the amazing fluidity and expressivness that comes out of his playing. But i was even more impressed for his talent has a composer.I don’t have any doubts that he is one of the best composers here.He should gain more recognition. He is going to be in the History of Music here!
As a pianist in this CD, he is worth for his bravure , in solos for difficult compositions as ‘’Spirit of the World’’ or ‘’ Different Places to Go’’. Check him out!!

Dejan Terzic, i met him in Hamburg in February of 2002, and right away he impressed me for his powerfull , excitant, and intensive way of comping.He also plays in ‘’Earth Talk’’.

I should refer that for this Cd, we only did 6 club concerts. In the period of two weeks, we gave the concerts and recorded.
Pedro Madaleno Grupo ,it’s a project that was created in 1992, but this repertoire was played for the first time in these concerts.
We only recorded in two days...but see the result!!The music is complex, dense and rhythmically intricated, with difficult accents, but without any problem, the musicians could easily transmit the adequate feel for each piece, and at same time, doing very good solos.
Without the support of any label here in Portugal, and knowing that a CD of the same kind of music can have all the support of big labels in the USA, with a budget that allows a studio recording time of more then 2 months, i can say at least that i feel very happy, and that i accomplished my task, for this first CD of my career, because it came out to be a very inspired record!
‘’Fast Living’’ has been my way of living.Almost like time traveling, but with a speed that still allows me to absorb intensively all the very good moments of life.
All these moments are here presented, so that all of you can taste them in sound, images, and maybe...you can dream and voyage a little bit....Pedro Madaleno
